MacNFS is a client implementation of the NFS architecture and is designed specifically for the Macintosh. Thursby Software Systems, Inc. (TSS) created MacNFS so the NFS mounted volume would function like a local disk. The product has been tested extensively with many Macintosh applications, and multiple UNIX NFS server implementations. What's New: Version 3.0p3 adds the following: MacNFS now works better with SCO. MacNFS should now allow sub-folders to be copied to a SCO system. Customers who have already experienced this problem should remove the .streams folders from the SCO system before attempting to use this MacNFS version. If a resource fork (.streams) has items left during a delete MacNFS will try to delete those items. When a retransmit timeout occurs during a read or write, a Disk Error is reported. This was previously reported as error -50 which is very generic. Now, if disk errors are reported, adjust the settings for MacNFS: lower Buffer Size, raise Retransmit Timer, and disable Performance. Our lab tests worked best with Buffer Size at 2K and Retransmit Timer at 2-3 seconds. | |
