Rapscallion is a client that allows you to connect to MUDs (Multi-User Dimensions). This broad term describes a wide variety of environments to which many users can simultaneously connect for interaction. MUDs are commonly used for gamers to meet to play text-based, role-playing, character-building games, although they can be used for any type of text-based community interaction. Connecting to a MUD takes a little practice; when you first use Rapscallion, try the Open Special option in the File menu to get an automatic connection setup. Rapscallion comes with a highly extensive HTML help document you can use to figure out how to master this program and enter all kinds of online communities. You can even use Rapscallion as an IRC client for chatting. As some people will have noticed, nothing has been done on the Rapscallion project for far too long. This has been for a lot of reasons, mainly the oh-so-much-fun, and somewhat unexpected twists and turns of real life. For this, I apologise. I cannot, in all conscience, keep charging for a project that I haven't worked on for so long, so... Rapscallion is now free. Rather than work on the deserialisation of it, and release a new version, I have chosen to publish a serial number for it: 0000-64L3-LD54 | |
