This patch will upgrade retail copies of Close Combat: A Bridge Too Far. The installation of this patch removes the "feature" that allowed users to deduce enemy placements during deployment mode. Also, dead tank sprites no longer vanish--and as an added bonus, those stay-in-place sprites will now smoke to confirm their mortal status. In addition, driving a tank straight down a road has become easier, and you'll be less likely to expose your side to the enemy in the middle of a move order. Finally, antitank guns placed in multistore buildings will no longer reap any LOS advantages from higher floors, tanks can now move onto the Arnhem bridge, and since mortars on "Defend" or when controlled by the AI were too accurate, they will now target an area, not individual troops. |
