Runscript is a simple maintenance and optimization utility for Mac OS X. It's an applescript application that allows the user to: Run Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Cron Scripts. Update Prebindings. Repair Disk Permissions. Clean Cache and Log Files. Enable/Disable the Exposé Blob (Mac OS X 10.3 Only). Enable/Disable Verify Disk Image Checksums (Mac OS X 10.3 Only). Force a (Unix) Shutdown/Restart. What's New: Version 2.3 adds the following: Scripts are now run by selecting the appropriate check boxes and then clicking the "Run" button. Runscript now asks if you are sure if you want to shutdown or restart your computer and also gives you an option to force it. A progress wheel and text description have been added to show the user exactly what Runscript is doing. Terminal windows opened by Runscript are much smaller than before. Panther only features in the "Misc." tab are now labeled. On quitting, Runscript now only closes Terminal windows that it has opened, and then only quits the Terminal if no other windows are open. Runscript is now installed from a package with the Mac OS X installer. | |
