BRU LE provides ultra-reliable backup on standalone OS X systems. It is licensed for commercial use and delivers industrial-strength data backup and restore services. A breadth of target devices, including hard disk are supported as well as tape technology. Native tape support of all tape formats is provided and support of autoloaders containing 1 drive and up to 10 slots. Bar code support is also provided. Remote system volumes can be AFP/NFS/SMB mounted and properly backed-up and restored. What's New: Version 1.2.8: Modified Search function under restore to dramatically improve catalog search times. Modified BRU option for exclusion pattern processing. With the release of BRU engine version 17.0.1.2.0, the -X option has been modified to allow passing paths directly on the command line. The bruxpat flag has been modified to -QX. While the GUI and scheduler operations have been modified to use the -QX flag pair when the exclude patterns file is included, please be sure to modify any scripts that you have created to use -QX instead of -X. The following example would backup the entire system, using the entries in the /var/lib/bru/etc/bruxpat file: bru -cvf ntape0 -QX / To use the -X flag, simply include a path immediately after the -X flag on the command line. Multiple -X flags may be used as in: bru -cvf ntape0 -X "*.bak" -X /Users/bob/Documents/reseller.doc / That example would backup the entire system, excluding any files on the system that end in .bak and the specific file 'reseller.doc' in the '/Users/bob/Documents' directory. Note that you should enclose wildcards in a path within quotes to prevent the shell from expanding them before passing them to BRU. Run Once schedules now properly de-schedule themselves once they are run. Email settings in the Preferences dialog are now properly utilized. | |
