Emailchemy is a utility that helps you regain ownership of your email. Emailchemy reads email from the proprietary formats of the most popular (and many of yesterday's forgotton) email applications and converts it to a standard, portable format that any application can use. The primary idea behind Emailchemy was to convert all the various proprietary email formats to The One True E-mail Format - RFC-822. This is the official Internet/ARPAnet standard for email that has been around since 1973. However, Emailchemy was built with a "pluggable" architecture that allows it to easily convert to other formats as well. Things you can do with Emailchemy: Convert email to standard formats Repair or clean mailbox files Remove proprietary extensions from mailbox files Condense separate email files and archives Prepare email for entry into a database Make older email Year 2000 compliant What's New: Version 1.5.7 is a maintenance release that adds: Entourage converter for Office 2001 and Office 2004 Support for cached IMAP messages in Mac OS X Mail converter Option to exclude non-standard headers (extension and user-defined per RFC-822) in output Support for decoding more non-standard date formats from the early days of the Internet Better handling of Emailer 1.x's "1999 bug".
