MacPAR deLuxe is a utility program that can be useful to you if you upload and download binary files to and from Internet newsgroups. It's main functions are: Ensure error-free transport of the data by means of so called "par" files; Unpack data from a RAR archive (most of the files in newsgroups are compressed with rar); Automatically start an external program (such as Stuffit Expander) to process downloaded files. What's New: Version 2.6: Par2 now deals correctly with filenames containing non-ASCII characters. The program used to crash or behave strangely when it encountered such files. Par2 files that contain no recovery blocks for the current job are now ignored. A par2 run that only requires renaming files (no actual repair) runs faster now. Solved a number of "internal error" issues. Furthermore, when such an error occurs the program now tries to create an error report file that can be mailed to the author to help solve the problem. Restored the feature to unrar files with ".001", ".002" etc. extensions. When running multiple unrar jobs in batch mode, only the resulting file of the last one to finish would show up in the Finder. This behavior has been improved: now all resulting files show up in the Finder after the last one has finished. The program now requires OSX 10.2 or higher, and is no longer supported on OSX 10.1 (it might still work, though). | |
