Mercury is a messaging client for the IBM Lotus Sametime messaging solution. Mercury brings a (soon to be) feature-rich environment to users on the Mac OS X platform. The application resembles iChat in general look and feel and attempts to provide the same basic features as Lotus' Windows Sametime Connect Client. Currently in early development, Mercury offers the following: Contact list management (adding/removing Contacts, Public Groups, and Private Groups) Including conflict resolution during an lookup search One on One chat with meeting support coming soon Support for changing the logged in user's status What's New: Version 0.3a:The contact list is now sorted (by the name stored on the Sametime server for your contact or group) The View menu contains an option to show/hide offline contacts The contact list has been updated to use an icon in the same manner that iChat doesFor the next release the features I am targeting are: Conversion of the message view to use WebKit to render so that styling your message windows will be simple for all users Conversion of the Preferences interface to use a preference pane system and an expansion of the preferences available to you. Conversion of the password storage mechanism to use the Mac OS X keychain instead of its current insecure implementation. A few other UI issues that I'm looking to address that don't fit into words so well. I hope these updates will make Mercury a better fit for all of you, the donate button is still active and donations are appreciated now more than ever. If I don't have a feature you want yet, let me know! | |
