ColorBurst X·Proof PS allows you to print directly from your image-editing and layout applications, such as Quark XPress, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. ColorBurst X·Proof PS can be added as a new printer in the Mac OS X Print Center. The X·Proof printer can then be selected from your application in the Print dialog. What's New: Version 2.2 adds the following: Greatly improved the speed of the Quality screening. If your machine has a G4 or G5 processor, you should notice almost a 50% speed decrease in ripping time. The time on G3 computers is unchanged. Added 16-bit TIFF support (RGB, CMYK, Grayscale, PS, EPS, PDF). Upon initial launch the user is asked to choose an initial environment. Added to the preferences the ability to change server names. This way an environment with several copies of the RIP could avoid publishing the same server name across the network. By default the Archive File option is now unchecked. Added support for PS documents that do not contain page bounds (i.e. Safari). Added two environments optimized for grayscale printing to the Epson 7600 and 9600. Fixed a problem when printing without RIP & Print On-The-Fly enabled where the percentage would freeze at 0% and nothing was being sent to the printer. After several seconds the cursor would change to the spinning beachball, and the application was in an unknown state. Fixed a problem where multi-page documents were attempting to write RTL info to a file even though the user had the Archive File checkbox unchecked. After canceling a print to an Epson 7600, 9600, 10000 or 10600 when RIP & Print On-The-Fly was enabled, the printer would be left in an non-ready state. Even though the LCD displayed ready, the printer was not ready to receive another print until it was reset. This has been fixed. Fixed a problem where if all printers were deleted (but the "Defined Printers.prt" file was still present) you would not be able to add additional printers until this file was deleted.
