Farsight is a Warcraft III hack that allows people on the Internet see your Local Network games. When you first run Farsight, it will prompt you for your administrator password. This is necessary because Farsight needs root privileges to sniff Warcraft III's packets. A more detailed discussion is at the end of this file. You will have to re-enter your password if you move/copy Farsight to another filesystem. Farsight allows you to play Warcraft III over the Internet by making your Local Network multiplayer games visible to several friends whose IP addresses you enter. Front-end written in Cocoa. What's New: Version 0.2 changes the user interface. A combination box now stores the 20 recently-used addresses. A log window now shows the output of the farsightd background process. The address limit raised to 200. The new Preferences window allows you to select a network interface to use, for those of you with both wireless and ethernet networks. |
