MacGDE is a set of programs for multiple sequence alignment and analysis. The programs use an expandable user interface which allows the addition of external analysis functions without any rewriting of code. The system supports several data types, nucleic and amino acid sequences, text, and masking sequence, and three forms of color highlighting. The system has several external analysis functions included for such things as automated alignment, searching, homology recognition, and phylogenetic analysis. What's New: Version 1.7: This updater is ONLY for 1.6 Installer now checks for X11 and Developers (Xcode) Tools before installing. Added T_Coffee Version_1.37. Added Boxshade Version 3.2. Added BLAST MultiSequences GenBank. Updated to ModelTest 3.5. Title bar now changes to MacGDE (path...) when file opened. More room for path. Updated Readseq to use 25 characters in MSF format shortnames. Ambiguous characters (X and *) will now display in Yellow to help distinguish them from gaps (-) in Protein sequences. Protein Phylip bug was fixed. Phylips' 10 character shortname limit worked around with perl scripts. Also, this keeps Consensus from crashing if two sequences have the same shortname. Fixed Cheap.RB file for use with TACG. | |
