Hesperides is an adaptation of Didier Willis' Dragon Flame, a sindarin (the grey-elven language, invented by J.R.R. Tolkien) dictionary, to Mac OS X. So, Mac Lovers can now be lambendili too : Hesperides integrates Didier's sindarin dictionary, distributed on his web site as a XML file, with a state-of-the-art Mac OS X interface and the Narmacil engine (to display the words using Tengwar). What's New: Version 1.1: English entries are now consolidated, and if a Sindarin word has only one meaning where the English word appears, only this meaning is shown Added a "match whole words" option for the regex-enabled search ; when enabled only entire words which match the regex will be displayed. Using this feature you can search for rhymes, for example : .*eth will only show words ending in 'eth' Added a minimalistic history Added an Help. Added an indexing mechanism : the first launch will be slower, but next ones should be much faster than when using 1.0 |
